This large bag of composted turkey manure is an excellent soil additive for seed starting mix, potted plants, raised garden beds, or adding into garden soil. This can help rebuild the soil after it has been used by heavily feeding plants such as tomatoes. I followed the instructions on the bag to make a mix of potting soil and this compost, and I used it for a purple cayenne pepper plant shown in my photo. I had other such plants in pots with different soil, and they are half of the size and not producing peppers yet, while this one already is. it could have been due to other factors as well, but you can tell how nutrient dense this compost is by the look, feel, and weight of it. It does have some small clumps that I would recommend breaking up while wearing gloves because it can be sticky and get under your fingernails. Because this is composted, it has hardly any smell to it. The compost will leach out a dark brown liquid when watered or if it rains on the bag, and that can stain cement, so if you are using this in pots or grow bags on cement, you might want to add saucers to the bottom. This would be an admittedly weird gift to give, but any serious gardener would be happy to have it!
As you can see in the pic my garden has lovely residents and I like to keep things organic. This is a great for my raised bed garden and easy top dress in the fall and maybe with some fall leaves from the trees as well. Mix some again in the spring and it really helps keep your soil refreshed especially for heavy feeders like zucchini and tomatoes. Everything is lush and healthy. I fertilize with Neptune's harvest between spring and fall.
