It’s tangy, It’s cheesy, and it has enough flavors to drive your taste buds wanting for more. This lemon basil pasta is delicious by itself, but if you prefer a little protein boost, top it with some of your favorite beans. Chickpeas or cannellini are excellent choices!

It can be a perfect weeknight dinner, or a quick fix for any of the weekends when you feel like having something homemade without having to put in any extra effort.


Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes

Serves: 2-3



250 g (10 oz) Spaghetti or any pasta of your choice

Salt and Pepper to taste

For the Lemon Basil Sauce:

1 Lemon (Zest + Juice)

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup fresh basil leaves

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Lemon Basil Pasta


  1. Cook the pasta as per the package direction. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Add the zest of one lemon, olive oil, parmesan cheese and basil leaves to a food processor and mix until smooth.
  3. Transfer the pasta to a skillet and add little sauce at a time. Toss the pasta well to combine. Add more Lemon basil sauce if needed depending on how much tang you prefer.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
