Thai basil is green with purple flowers. It has an intense sweet and spicy taste with a hint of licorice.Thai Basil is native to Southeast Asia, believed to have originated in Thailand. A few varieties include Queenette and Siam Queen. Thai Basil doesn't survive in super cold climates, better suited for humid, tropical climates. It is used widely in southeastern asian cuisines.
