FAQs

Hanging your indoor grow lights is a breeze. Follow these simple steps for a successful installation:

  1. Choose the perfect location: Take into account the space available, your plants' specific needs, and accessibility when deciding where to hang your grow lights.
  2. Determine the hanging height: The Aspect™ grow light provides light coverage corresponding to its hanging height. On average, each foot the Aspect™ is hung above a plant will provide the same amount of light. For example, if you hang the Aspect™ 3 feet above the plant, it will cover a 3-foot by 3-foot area with light.
  3. Gather the necessary materials: When you purchase our Aspect™ grow lights, you will receive all the essential accessories, including ceiling hooks, Fairleads for cable management, and Swag Hooks for hanging. These are included to simplify your installation process.
  4. Install the ceiling hooks: To speed up the installation, predrill small holes for the ceiling hooks. Then, use either Swag Hooks or ceiling hooks to support the weight of the Aspect™ grow light and hang it securely.
  5. Manage the cables: Ensure a tidy setup by installing Fairleads along the desired path for the cord to follow. These will help keep the Aspect™ cord neatly organized.
  6. Adjust the hanging height: Consult the specific guidelines for your plants' light requirements. If you need to make significant adjustments to the hanging height, loosen the Fairleads. Raise or lower the lights accordingly to achieve the optimal distance from the plant canopy.
  7. Check electrical connections: Connect the grow lights to a reliable power source and ensure that all electrical connections are secure and properly in place.
  8. Test and monitor: Turn on the lights and observe their performance. Regularly check the hanging height and make necessary adjustments based on the growth of your plants.

Remember, each plant has unique light requirements, so it's crucial to adjust the hanging height accordingly. Soltech offers high-quality grow lights that provide optimal spectrum and intensity for indoor plants. Experience the benefits of healthy and thriving plants with our innovative lighting solutions.

Achieve optimal growth for your indoor plants by hanging grow lights at the right distance. Here are the recommended hanging heights for Aspect™ Grow Lights based on different light requirements:

  • Full Sun Plants: Hang the large Aspect™ grow light 12in - 24in above plants like peppers, squash, and marigolds.
  • High Light Plants: Hang the large Aspect™ grow light 24in - 36in above high light plants such as cacti, dracaena, and fiddle leaf fig. For smaller high-light plants, use the small Aspect™ grow light at a height of 12in - 24in.
  • Medium Light Plants: Position the large Aspect™ grow light 36in - 48in above medium light plants like spider plants, pothos, and peace lilies. For smaller medium light plants, hang the small Aspect™ grow light at a height of 24in - 36in.
  • Low Light Plants: Optimize growth for low light plants like pothos, ferns, and Chinese evergreens by hanging the large Aspect™ grow light at a height of 48in - 60in. For smaller low-light plants, use the small Aspect™ grow light at a height of 36in - 48in.

Following these recommendations ensures that your plants receive the ideal light intensity. Soltech's Aspect™ Grow Lights are designed to provide the perfect spectrum and intensity for indoor plants, supporting their health and vitality. Achieve impressive results with our advanced lighting solutions.

For edible plants, the answer to this question depends on whether the plant is what's known as a 'long day' or 'short day' plant, and secondly, whether or not flowering of the plant is desirable.

To learn more about both topics we recommend this blog. But if you can't be bothered with that, then aim for around 12 hours and you won't be too far off.

Unexpected conversation piece!

Some might say that it is overly ambitious and even unwise to buy a ficus tree in January, but hey, the local garden nursery had a sale. You know how it is. Alas, the perfect corner in the house for it did not have enough light. Came across soltechs lights which neatly avoid having to drill a hook in the ceiling (painting ceilings is the WORST trust me). Anyway, the ficus is still alive and I think its getting enough light. The unexpected thing is that our visitors all comment on how cool the light over it looks and I have to agree. I do wish that the power box was white for the white light that I bought. Its a big black box that is a bit of an eyesore- see photo. Wish they were less expensive but I found no good alternative and have to commend this company for a well made and beautiful light. I will probably save up for another!
